10 Things You need to Know about How to Buy a Fleshlight
So you’re trying to figure out how to buy a Fleshlight (not to be confused with a flashlight), what to look for, which Fleshlight will best suit your needs. Let me tell you, we never thought that buying a Fleshlight would be so confusing. Deciding what is the best Fleshlight is not an easy task. But have no fear, we did all of the hard work for you and put everything together in this easy-to-follow guide on how to buy a Fleshlight that meets your specific needs.
The first fleshlight I bought was back in 2012 on a trip to London. I had no clue what I was doing, what to look for or what would work best. The very helpful guy at the sex shop in Soho (one of London’s hippest and hottest spots for all things sex related) assisted in pointing me in the right direction. I recall using it a few times and then tossing it because I was not too happy with the results, the cleaning was a nightmare as it had some sort of spongy, foam around the main silicone interior. The combination of the foam and the moisture from bodily fluids and water was not great at all. So that was a waste. This post is meant to help you avoid making the same or similar mistakes.
There are countless handheld male masturbation toys that simulate sex. Many have become generically known as fleshlight toys, however ‘Fleshlight’ is actually a category all by itself. If you are interested in buying one of the generic male masturbation toys, you should look under male masturbators in the men’s adult toy section. You’ll also discover that some imitate the Fleshlight’s now famous flashlight canister style. But unless it says Fleshlight, it’s not a real and original Fleshlight. Knowing Your Personal Preferences Helps You Decide on the Right Fleshlight to Buy
Not all Fleshlights are made equally. A Fleshlight, like most sex toys is very personal and so the first step in deciding on what is the best Fleshlight for you, is to determine what are your personal preferences. We’ve created ten (10) categories of preferences and matched each preference with what we believe to be the most appropriate Fleshlight(s) to cater to those specific preferences. The categories are as follows:
- I want it to feel like the real thing;
- I’m gay and not really interested in girl parts;
- I have a fantasy to be with a specific porn star;
- I want to train myself to last longer;
- I’m a big guy and I need a Fleshlight that would fit;
- It’s got to be really tight;
- I want to see my tool in action;
- I’m looking for a different feel;
- I want to make my own Fleshlight;
- I’m a freak and looking for something kinky.
These are explained in more detail in the following sections.
Many first time buyers try to find the Fleshlight that is the most “realistic”. For me, I was not looking for the real feel of any particular orifice but really a masturbation enhancer. But you may want that plus the added fantasy of being with a real person. So the real feel would work for you in that case. Many times first time buyers who don’t know how to buy a fleshlight encounter problems when they go for the ‘real feel’. Often, the sleeve is not intense enough for them to feel anything after years of using only their hands. Remember, with your hands your could apply pressure and adjust accordingly and move your fingers in different ways and strokes. Our recommendation for first time users who want to easily transition from masturbation using your hands to using a fleshlight is the Stamina Training Unit (STU) as it has a more intense texture.
Most Fleshlights out there are designed for straight guys and some are even made to mimic female porn stars. But as gay guys ourselves, girl parts just don’t do it for us. So we looked for the most suitable Fleshlight products that are best for us and our gay brethren. Fortunately, there are loads of other Flashlight styles to choose from – those that look like a bum; there are mouths for the oral sex feel and there are also neutral/generic styles that are not patterned after any specify body part, male or female. We’re not big fans of the oral ones but the ones that look like bums and the neutral ones are pretty cool. Most guys, gay or straight, are mainly looking for penis stimulation when it comes to masturbation. If the sex toy can help in your fantasy then that’s an added bonus. Straight guys have a a lot of female adult sex stars to choose from. But guess what, gay men also have a few options. Here are the most popular male porn star Fleshlight products properly known as Fleshjack products. Remember Brent Corrigan? There’s a Fleshjack product named and made after him (both oral and anal). Now you don’t have to complain about not having any gay-related Fleshlights (Fleshjacks).

There are some of you out there that might want to get your rocks off by fantasizing about a particular porn star. Let’s face it, most guys watch porn at some point in their lives. Imagine what it must be like to do so while having a replica of your favorite porn star. I’m not entirely sire how they make them though. I could understand how they can make a replica of a guys ‘magic wand’ but what about a woman’s intimate crevice or a guys nether hole? Here are a list of porn stars and their replica Fleshlight or Fleshjack.

One particular concern for some men is premature ejaculation. But on the whole, most men would love to last longer in bed and give endless pleasure to their lover (and themselves). While there are pills and creams that help do the job, you could choose a different path – the Fleshlight Stamina Training Unit (STU). We don’t generally recommend using pills, you never know what side effects they have. Also creams generally tend to reduce the pleasure factor, so we don’t generally recommend that either. But honestly, the creams are a quick fix. So if you need to do something immediately, the creams are a great short term solution. But for a more long term application you could try the Fleshlight STU. For more information on the Fleshlight STU check out this article – Fleshlight Stamina Training Unit Reviews. They’re available in both Fleshlight and Fleshjack versions. You’ve seen the Fleshlight STU above (item #2). Here is the Fleshjack version – Endurance Jack:
When we first decided to buy a Fleshlight size (among others) was a consideration. So we did some research back then and found that generally most Flashlights work well with even above average guys. In preparing for this post we carried out even more extensive research on a number of major sites including Fleshlight.com. Unless you’re super, super huge, we don’t think you’d have a problem. But here is a rough guide to assist you in your decision making.
First of all Fleshlight has a few smaller versions such as the Fleshjack GO and the Flight. These smaller products are designed for travel in mind. They are compact and sleek and built to discreetly fit you carry on or even your personal travel bag. The internal sleeves of both the Fleshlight GO and the Flight are around 6-7 inches, which is not too bad for just about any length. Even if you’re 9 or 10 inches (if you’re longer than that you’re a beast LOL), 6-7 inches should do a nice enough job. Length might not be a huge problem with the compact versions, but you may run in to some trouble where girth is concerned. The Glight and GO usually comfortably accommodates 5″ in girth, which is average. If you 6.5 inches and over, we’d recommend you try one of the original sizes.
The original (normal) sized Fleshlight sleeves (the internal part) are generally around 8 to 9 inches in length. So that should not be a problem. In terms of girth, our research shows that that’s not a real issue except for a few models. Some models are deliberately made super tight, hence the name – the Super Tight Sleeve. These are around 1/2 inch in diameter. Try squeezing in 7″ (girth) into 1/2 inch. Now that’s super tight. Other models are around 3/4 inches and can accommodate above average girth (unless you are super above average). I’m a little under 6″ in girth and I’ve had no problems. Our research shows that virtually everyone can have a good time with just about most Fleshlight or Fleshjack products.
If you’re looking for a tighter fit then there are Fleshlight products designed just for you. One of the attributes that I personally love about Fleshlights is that you can adjust the “tightness”. At the bottom of the Fleshlight there’s a cap that you can turn to adjust suction. Open the cap and you get less suction. Close the cap and you get more suction for a “tighter” feel (see more information here). Then of course, there are the tighter versions, such as, the Super Tight sleeves, which are just 1/2 inch in diameter for the tightest Fleshlight experience. Just pick the Fleshlight case and choose your sleeve. There’s a make your own Fleshlight option.
If seeing yourself in motion gets your rocks off, then there’s a Fleshlight made just for you. It’s called the Fleshlight Ice. The Fleshlight Ice is just as great as all the other Flashlights. The only difference is that it is clear. Well not completely clear but as clear as it can be. Just enough to see your junk. The textures, size, design and everything else are the same. The Fleshlight Ice internal sleeve is the same superskin material, just clear.
See Yourself in Action
Fleshlights come in a variety of inner sleeve textures. Different textures give you different feelings. In this way you can experience a variety of stimulating experiences. Some are tight, some are ribbed, some are bumpy and some are smooth. You can start a collection of sleeves. The great thing is that you don’t have to buy the whole apparatus each time. The outer molding is just for appearances and aesthetics. It’s what on the inside that’s the real treasure. You could just buy the sleeves separately and interchange them depending on the feel you’re looking for at that point in time. Mix it up in order to max up your pleasure.
There are literally dozens of different textures, but to keep things simple, we’ve put together some of the more popular ones. We even threw in a few strange textures just to keep it interesting.

This is an interesting one and I guess you could take it from two points of view. Firstly Fleshlight Inc. gives buyers the option of customizing their Fleshlight by giving them the option to mix and match cases and sleeve styles. This creates endless options. You could create a Fleshlight that no one else has ever thought of based on the combinations you chose.
The other option is sort of DIY. With a few homemade ingredients, tools and products you could make your own ‘fleshlight’. Of course what you make at home could never equal in quality, design and pleasurable feel. But hey, why not have some fun while you wait on the delivery of your discreetly packaged Fleshlight. For some DIY tops here’s a cool blog post that could be interesting. User discretion is advised as making your own fleshlight simulated product could be dangerous. At least it’s an amusing read – Buzz Feed DIY Fleshlight.
So you’re a freak? So what? Everyone has a little freak in them, right? But if freaky helps you get off have no fear. There’s a Fleshlight line of products just for you to get your freak on. Interestingly, the line is called Fleshlight Freak. From Frankenstein, Dracula, Cyborg, Aliens, Preditor, Reaper, Avatar and Zombies you can have your halloween treat any day of the year. Check out some of Fleshlight’s freakiest male sex toys here: Fleshlight Freak.
So there you go guys. That’s our summary of how to buy a Fleshlight. I hope it was helpful and that you were able to make a decision on what to buy or at least to narrow your search.
